Disney is working on a new feature film about basketball superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was named the NBA’s Most Valuable Player this year. The movie which is currently named “Greek Freak”, which is Gianni’s nickname, will look at Antetokounmpo’s early life and current career.
The film will be based on Giannis’ family life, his childhood, and upbringing in Greece, as well as his professional career and his rise to stardom as one of the greatest players on earth. Giannis, who is also going to become a dad soon, is expected to receive a historic five-year, $253 million contract extension from the Bucks next summer, as the team hopes to secure a long-term deal before he can test free agency in 2021. The “Greek Freak’s” inspirational story seems like an ideal choice for a Disney sports film, after the company’s success of “Remember The Titans,” “Miracle” and “The Rookie.”
